All I want for Christmas....

Is my own psp!

I'm sure that's what Rufus would say. But recently we found out that 'he' is a female (don't ask how), so we've been calling her Ruffina. That's the Lego Batman game by the way, i've been addicted to it recently. (No wonder i've been tempting to kick/hit/bomb black dustbin cans that i come across). Rufus/Ruffina has been an absolute saint nowadays. Sits quietly on my lap while i play my game or watch tv but once she gets fidgety, it means she wants to pee or poo.

I'm on leave starting tomorrow and going back to work on the 2nd of Jan 2009! So...

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

Body Bar at Tropicana City Mall, PJ

*Note that this is NOT a paid advertorial

Over the weekend i visited Tropicana City Mall, PJ. For those who didn't know, it opened it's doors to all on the 18th Dec. Though many shops like Carrefour, GSC, Borders, etc. are not opened yet, quite a few other shops have started operations.

A somewhat tacky Christmas tree. Ok laaaa...for a mall that just opened.

A row of shops

I dropped by a shop called Body Bar which sells all natural skincare products which are certified organic. That's where i got my skincare products. The prices are considered affordable for premium products.

More info on the products

Their policy is to bring their customers all-natural skincare that are 'Good enough to eat'!

Christmas came early

*Note that this is NOT a paid advertorial

I went over to Tropicana City Mall today (yes, it's opened) and visited a shop called Body Bar (will blog about the shop in my next post). The products in the shop are from Australia and New Zealand. I got myself a Mukti starter pack (for moisturizing my face) and a rejuvenating eye balm. Mukti is derived from Sanskrit and it means freedom and liberation. This brand is sold exclusively in Body Bar only.

Starter pack + eye balm

What's great about this shop is that it has naturally organic skincare products. The items are all certified organic unlike many other products out there who just claim they are 'organic'.

Labels

It's has Organic Certification by OFC, which guarantees that the products has no synthetic chemicals, produced in a responsible ecological and harmonius ways. It's also cruelty free and assures that no animal has been harmed nor were used for testing. And lastly, it has Australian Made status which signifies that all the manufaturing and production takes place in Australia.

Rejuvenating eye balm

I've been looking for a suitable eye cream for a while now. So i decided to get this Mukti rejuvenating eye balm. It promotes cell regeneration, hydration and protection for the eye area.

Foaming cleanser + Facial cream + Mist toner

First off, the foaming cleanser removes dirt, makeup and other impurities on your skin. The mist toner is used after cleansing for extra hydration and to balance the skin's pH. Lastly, the cream is required to re-hydrate and deeply nourish the skin. I bought this pack because it's suitable for my skin and there are other products for different skin types. Each of the items can be bought separately, but i chose to buy the whole pack as it's more value for money and most of all ,works well with one another.

I think this product is pretty good and most importantly it's certified organic. It will definitely be good for me as my skin is pretty sensitive. So do drop by Body Bar at Tropicana City Mall, PJ to check out their range of products.

Failed nails

Feeling a lil' festive since Christmas is almost upon us, me and a colleague went for a manicure during lunch one day. We went to one in Subang Parade, though both of us have not done it here before. We went to a rather well knowned parlour and seeing that it was quite full at that time, we thought it would be a rather safe bet. I settled for a French manicure and sat back to let the manicurist do her job.

Hmm..what do the lines on my palm say?

Alas, after an hour, i was disappointed. The colour was quite dull and not as vivid as the one i did in 1Utama. Rather bland. There were some cuticles still showing, my nails weren't filed properly and on my thumb the pink tones were not really even. Dang it! So not worth my time and money.

Weekend activities....

Had quite a packed weekend, some were planned activities and some were impromptu. Quite a tiring one, but it was fun.

Saturday:

Started off my Saturday morning by heading to Solaris Mont Kiara. Wendy had a booth at Bijou Bazaar, so i thought of dropping by to look around. The event didn't start until 2.08pm, so we went to have lunch first at Canton Fare, a stone's throw away from Soho, KL.

He has been to Canton Fare before, introduced to him by his cousin, so he brought me to try it out. To find a parking around there is quite a nightmare. So after 3 rounds, we were lucky to get one. The restaurant was quite packed with the lunch crowd but the service was fast.

Hailed as the King of Roast!

Don't think they keep their chickens here

Big wantons!

Platter of 3 type of roast: Char siew, siu yuk and chicken

Closer look at the char siew and siu yuk

The food was nice and tasty, though the chicken was nothing to shout about. Price was quite reasonable for the place and portion.

After lunch, we walked over to Soho to check out the bazaar. Quite a lot of stalls and there was a band playing.

Wendy's designs!

Charms, charms and more charms!

Closer look

Please head over to her blogshop to check out her designs!

After an hour or so, we went off to Atria, DJ. Had to drop the car off for some wash and wax, so we walked around Giant for a bit. Spotted a very happy bottle of rum.

A very Gay rum

After that we went off home to rest a bit before heading out again.

In the evening, I headed out to my ex-colleague's bbq party at his house. Spent most of the time playing with his 2 Pekingese. Went off before the party ended, cause we were heading to 1Utama to watch Bolt on 3d with some other friends.

It was really nice to watch it on 3d, though the glasses were a bit uncomfortable for me. Kept slipping off my nose, so had to keep it there with my hands. A penalty of RM200 will be imposed if the 3d glasses are lost or broken. The movie was funnier than expected! Now i want a white German Shepard too!

The movie ended around 1.30am, so we (4 adults) headed off for some supper of Hokkien mee at SS3. Reached home and went to sleep bout 4am.

Sunday:

Sunday morning started at 12.30pm. Woke up, got ready and headed to Glenmarie for curry mee! Mind you, out of the 4 adults, 3 were having cough. That's how good Glenmarie curry mee is. Sorry, no picture here.

With our bellies filled with food, we headed out, to our next destination. We got quite lost looking for the place, had to make a few calls to get the right location. It was a place where they raced.......cars!

Cars in position, waiting for the signal to go!

And they're off! Some good driving there

Buggy racing

See it jump!

We got out of the hot sun and went off to Kepong to check out Waterfront at Desa Park City. The place is quite nice, somehow had a Sydney feel to it. The 'water' part of it was quite a disappointment. Not much of a lake.

After that we headed home. Had a simple dinner and spent the rest of the night watching 30 Rock. A nice end to a busy weekend.

Say Hello!

Presenting my guinea pigs Rufus and Scruffy! Got them 2 weeks ago, and they're 2 months old. They are about 5-6 inches long now, but i saw the fully grown ones at the pet shop which were huge! I would say it's about the size of a rabbit!

They are both Abyssinian guinea pigs which are the type that have cowlicks on their coats. We aren't very sure about their gender but we're suspecting both are males. Hopefully they are of the same gender, wouldn't want more baby pigs popping around!

Scruffy

Rufus

Both have different personalities. Scruffy still runs away whenever we try to pet him, but will stay still when you hold him and makes soft wheeking (guinea pig sounds) when we pet him. He doesn't like you feeding him either.

Rufus has gotten use to being around us. He looks forward to our visits to their cage cause it usually means food is coming. Ha! He will stand on his hind legs and look up at us expectantly and wheeks excitedly. He loves to sit in the food bowl and doesn't mind you feeding him. Mind you, he eats a lot and very fast!

As you can see, there are some carrots and cucumber in the food bowl. They love cucumbers very much and that would be their first choice of food.

Just wondering now how to cut their fingernails?

Dining at Wendy's

Wendy's the fast food chain has been in Malaysia for some months now. I visited the first one at Sunway Pyramid and then i found there's one at Jaya One in PJ.

I'm not a big fan of beef burgers (except Ramli burgers), so i don't usually order them at restaurants. Wendy's beef patties are different from others as they are square. I did take a bite of Wendy's beef burger....and well....i still don't like beef burgers. I do like their chicken and fries!

The 1/2 pounder

Spicy fried chicken

Shrimp burger, with real shrimp!
Still nice and fresh

Wendy's Chili.....no big whoop.
Had to add chili sauce to enhance the taste

Chicken burger

Baked P0tato

Fries!

Well, i know someone who likes to add things into his burgers, go over to his blog to see how he eats it!
