A Saturday Post

Ok, so maybe that's not a very interesting title for a post. Oh well, just ranting here about what I did today. I realise i don't 'talk' much in my blog anymore, it's always with pictures nowadays.

My morning started out at 9am, when me and the bf went for breakfast at a shop nearby. Ate a 'char siew pau' while watching the replay of the Spain and Chile match. Only managed to catch Spain's first goal.

After breakfast we went back home to chill out for a while. I played 'Flower' on the PS3. It's this interesting game where you are the wind and you're blowing flower petals around. Your mission is to blow the wind close to other flowers and gather more and more petals. Sometimes after blowing around a cluster of flowers you will cause effects like bring colour to previously dull fields or starting windmills. It's quite fun. Had to stop my game when the bf's friend came over and they started playing Red Dead Redemption. It's sort of like a cowboy kind of GTA (Grand Theft Auto). Sorry if you don't know what I've been talking about so far, please Google. (Reminds me of a scene in Hot Tub Time Machine, funny show btw, where Google was named Lougle instead).

Noon came along and I went out with friends for lunch and then a movie at Tropicana City Mall. It proved to be a free-gifts day there. We had lunch at Otak-Otak Place and after we paid for the meal they gave us free coffee sachets. A brand called Cafe Up, which is coffee with Tongkat Ali (I just realised why it's named Up!), Gano? and Ginseng Extract. Hmmm...wonder what it would taste like. After lunch, we had a spot of shopping......well, I did a spot of shopping. We then went to catch our movie. When collecting the tickets, we were given Loreal Hair Mask! Another free gift! Watched Sex And The City 2. I thought the storyline was kinda draggy. Too much unnecessary stuff. It was still as vulgar and hilarious, though I think I prefer the first movie.

It was back to home after the movie. Surf net a lil and then had my dinner. Made my own tortilla pizza. I watched 'Enchanted' again while eating my dinner. Enchanted is one of the movies that really turned out better than expected. Really enjoyed the movie when I first watched it few years back. My favourite scene was when Giselle and Robert was at Central Park and Giselle started singing That's How You Know. Loved just how Giselle started the whole musical thing with everyone in the park.

So now that the movie's over, I'm here blogging about my day. I hear shouts of 'Gooooallll!!' from football fans below. Their watching the Uruguay and Korea match and the score is 1-1 now.

So I'll leave you all with the clip from Enchanted. Enjoy!

Things you should not throw in the toilet

It's quite common to see some posters in the toilet, telling you what you should not throw into the toilet. The common things would be litter, sanitary pads and then they would caution you not to squat on top of the toilet bowl.

Check out this poster stumbled upon in the toilet of a MNC company:

What is that last item??? Looks like a voodoo doll with glowing eyes....ooOOOooo... Or is it a baby? Why did they put such an image to classify as 'anything else'?? Hilarious!

Birthday Dinner at Prime, Le Meridien

Had my birthday middle of last week, so the bf treated me to a nice dinner at Prime, Le Meridien in KL. We braved the traffic after work, and it took us an hour being stuck in the jam to reach there. (Just the short distance between Bangsar and Le Meridien, mind you!)

Prime

It was my first time there and after hearing all the good reviews about their steaks, i was really looking forward to the dinner.

After we ordered, we were served 2 kinds of bread with 3 types of butter. I enjoyed the black pepper cheese bread. Yums!

For starters, we ordered the Caesar Salad:

We ordered the Truffle mash potato to share. Couldn't finish this one:

I had the Australian Black Angus Gourmet Pasture Fed Beef ribeye steak (quite a mouthful there). Sounds like one angry cow! And it was sooooo delicious. Spoiled me for any steaks in future.

Medium-well

The bf had the Wagyu beef shank. Very tender and it really melts in your mouth!

This is the bone marrow from the beef shank:

We both had a really good dinner here and we both agreed that the ribeye steak was the best. After making payment, the receipt was given to us in a little packet. Great idea! It's really the small things that counts.

Dinner Date at Dave's Pizza Pasta Vino

We had one of our dinner dates at Dave's Pizza Pasta Vino. It's located at 1Utama, old wing opposite TGIF. Usually we would go for lunch as they have 50% off all pasta. Love their carbonara and ribs.

We ordered Caesar Salad as the starter. It's quite a big portion with croutons and bacon bits. We shared the Salami Pizza and the Chicken Parmegiana (i think it is that chicken).

We couldn't finish the food, so we had to doggy bag most of the pizza and chicken. Would definitely go back to sample more of the other food.

How do you walk your dog?

How do you usually walk your dog? Some do it with a leash, while some would just let the dog roam free next to them when they walk or jog. Heck, some would carry the dog (smallish dog) the whole time their walking around the park! I've seen this.

Just today on my way back from work, I was driving along SS3 PJ, when I saw this new method of walking a dog. Could you guess how? (No time to whip out my phone to take a pic)

I saw this lady and her full grown Siberian Husky. Get this, she was holding the dog's 2 front paws up and the dog was walking on his hind legs. They were walking at a normal pace. I don't get it? Why??

Lunch at My Elephant

I've passed by this restaurant many a times and heard that it serves good Thai food. It's located at the flats at Section 17 PJ, aptly named Happy Mansion. So one fine day me and the bf went over to try their lunch set (only on weekdays).

We reached the place quite early, but soon the place filled up with the lunch crowd. Our drinks came first, some cooling Krachiap.

KraChiap Cooler

Soon after, the food followed. I ordered my set with Maryland Chicken and green curry whilst the bf had the panang curry. (If I'm not mistaken, remembering the names from memory)

Overall the food is alright, though I felt the curry wasn't spicy enough. The chicken was nice, but after a while it was too overwhelming. I actually went to their website to look for the name of the sets, but they didn't have the food list because 'lunch menu is not ready yet'. How can that be when the lunch menu is already set?

Those cheap thrills

One day after buying a present at Toys R Us, we noticed that the slot/toy capsule machines outside the store were having a 'sale'. The capsules were half off. So what the heck? We decided to indulge ourselves a little and try our luck at the machines.

Capsule station outside Toys R Us

After changing money for tokens at the counter, we browsed around for the machine that has the most attractive toy. The Bf settled on the Dragon Ball machine. We then put the tokens in, said a little prayer and turned the dial. Behold! We got 'Goku'. (Ok, i have to admit i asked the bf what character was that)

Goku in the egg

We went home, cracked open the capsule and assembled the body parts. Goku is now displayed next to one of our Gundams. (Which reminds me, i have a loooooong overdue Gundam post)

Cracked egg

Dismembered body parts

All done up
