A porky lunch buffet

As you can see, this is not a halal post :)

On weekdays, Bavarian Bierhaus serves a buffet lunch for RM25++ per person. This may sound like any other buffet, but they do have this special item on the menu.

One fine day, I was on leave, so I picked the bf up from his office and drove to Bavarian Bierhaus at The Curve. Once seated, we were served their soup of the day. I think ours was some kind of pea soup? Kinda icky, not tasty at all.

We then attacked the buffet table. The selection of buffet dishes are only a few, consisting of some cold cuts, sausages, spaghetti and mash. Nothing special here rite?

And then they take out their secret weapon, The Pork Knuckle! We were served just one, but it was a very generous portion.

After..........actually still got a lot of meat on the other side

We couldn't finish the pork knuckle, and being the considerate people we are, *ahem*, we offered to generously take-away the pork knuckle. But alas, we were not allowed to do so. So we purposely asked the waitress if they are just going to throw it away to waste? They said 'Yes'.
Geez......so wasteful. :P

Ooooh, Baby!

Sometime back a friend brought us to this seafood place called Restoran Baby Seafood in Klang, at Batu Belah (i noticed a school nearby). The food was great, so we went back again last weekend.

When you walk in, you would notice that everyone is eating their signature fish......dish. It's sort of a Teochew-Thai style. It's unique cause it's served hot with burning charcoal below the dish. It's a must-order. Firstly, a bowl of hot broth will be served. The broth is delicious to drink on its on, but it's mainly for us to top-up on the fish. The broth becomes thick and tasty after a while of simmering on the hot plate.

Ze yummy yummy fish

They also have their signature vege dish. It comes in a thick gravy with slices of ham, salted egg yolk and scallops!! Lots of scallops!

Another delicious dish would be their Thai style fried tofu. The tofu is crispy on the outside and smoooooth on the inside. This would be one of the few times I like tofu. An honour really.

Look Ma! I'm eating tofu!

Next is the Nestum mantis prawn. The cereal is really tasty and crunchy. We also had the pandan chicken, which was nothing to shout about.

Mantis prawn. Yum yum.

Lastly, we had the stuffed chicken. It was filled with ham and some vege. Quite nice really.

Overall the food here is really good. Do go earlier as the place tends to get packed at dinner time. It opens at 6, so it's safe to be there around 6 plus. And go with more friends, so you can sample more dishes. Would definitely go back again for their fish and to try other dishes.
