Dinner Date at Dave's Pizza Pasta Vino

We had one of our dinner dates at Dave's Pizza Pasta Vino. It's located at 1Utama, old wing opposite TGIF. Usually we would go for lunch as they have 50% off all pasta. Love their carbonara and ribs.

We ordered Caesar Salad as the starter. It's quite a big portion with croutons and bacon bits. We shared the Salami Pizza and the Chicken Parmegiana (i think it is that chicken).

We couldn't finish the food, so we had to doggy bag most of the pizza and chicken. Would definitely go back to sample more of the other food.

How do you walk your dog?

How do you usually walk your dog? Some do it with a leash, while some would just let the dog roam free next to them when they walk or jog. Heck, some would carry the dog (smallish dog) the whole time their walking around the park! I've seen this.

Just today on my way back from work, I was driving along SS3 PJ, when I saw this new method of walking a dog. Could you guess how? (No time to whip out my phone to take a pic)

I saw this lady and her full grown Siberian Husky. Get this, she was holding the dog's 2 front paws up and the dog was walking on his hind legs. They were walking at a normal pace. I don't get it? Why??

Lunch at My Elephant

I've passed by this restaurant many a times and heard that it serves good Thai food. It's located at the flats at Section 17 PJ, aptly named Happy Mansion. So one fine day me and the bf went over to try their lunch set (only on weekdays).

We reached the place quite early, but soon the place filled up with the lunch crowd. Our drinks came first, some cooling Krachiap.

KraChiap Cooler

Soon after, the food followed. I ordered my set with Maryland Chicken and green curry whilst the bf had the panang curry. (If I'm not mistaken, remembering the names from memory)

Overall the food is alright, though I felt the curry wasn't spicy enough. The chicken was nice, but after a while it was too overwhelming. I actually went to their website to look for the name of the sets, but they didn't have the food list because 'lunch menu is not ready yet'. How can that be when the lunch menu is already set?

Those cheap thrills

One day after buying a present at Toys R Us, we noticed that the slot/toy capsule machines outside the store were having a 'sale'. The capsules were half off. So what the heck? We decided to indulge ourselves a little and try our luck at the machines.

After changing money for tokens at the counter, we browsed around for the machine that has the most attractive toy. The Bf settled on the Dragon Ball machine. We then put the tokens in, said a little prayer and turned the dial. Behold! We got 'Goku'. (Ok, i have to admit i asked the bf what character was that)

Goku in the egg

We went home, cracked open the capsule and assembled the body parts. Goku is now displayed next to one of our Gundams. (Which reminds me, i have a loooooong overdue Gundam post)

All done up

Dinner at Boston Restaurant, Klang

When we were deciding where to head for dinner, our friend decided to bring us to Klang to this famous restaurant called Boston. We reached the place around 9pm and had to wait a few minutes to get a table. After that it was another 1 hour wait for the food! We ordered 2 dishes and a plate of noodles. The food was really worth the wait.

The famous lala dish which every table was ordering

oats + butter milk prawn (mak pin lai niu ha)

The lala was really tasty, with really spicy gravy/juice. The oat + butter prawns' got to be the best one i've tasted so far. I wouldn't mind coming here again although the wait can be quite long. It's alright once in a while.

Favourite Gerbera Daisy

I love Gerbera Daisies. The bf knows this too, but it's sometimes quite hard to get. So far the most favourite Gerbera I've gotten would be this white one with a pink middle. I find it so unique and pretty!

Penang getaway

Last month, me and the bf had a short trip to Penang. It was probably my 4th time there ever! To enjoy the best of Penang, we (as in 'he') drove all the way up north. Armed with a full tank, topped-up touch 'n go card and gps, it took us about 4 hours to reach Penang.

We did stop by Ipoh for a quick lunch. We had dry curry mee and Ipoh coffee at Uncle Wong's kopitiam. The shop is quite well known for tasty dry curry mee. And you can never go wrong with coffee in Ipoh.

Tasted refreshing!

Yummy dry curry noodles

It was quite a breeze going over the Penang bridge and to the hotel, as it was right smack next to Komtar.

Penang Bridge

After checking in and a quick rest, we wanted to go out for dinner. We figured we would drive around and just go to any place we chance upon. We turned into a lane and we hit the motherload! It happened to be Lorong Selamat, and the famous char kuey teow could be found here. Lady luck was with us, as we reach the place 5 minutes before closing time. We were the last people to be served.

Time to call it a day at 6.30pm

After this, any other Char Kuey Teow will never taste the same again

After a very satisfying meal, we found our way to Gurney Drive. We walked around Gurney Plaza and checked out G Hotel next door. We were recommended to try out this stall at Gurney that had some tasty fried chicken skin. Yes, I did say fried chicken skin.

Lotsa skin

Later that night (yes, even later that day), we were feeling quite adventurous, so we drove around town looking for Slippery Senoritas. And yes, we did find it!
Few bars outside

Live band inside!

The next day, I hung around Queensbay Mall in the morning while waiting for the bf to finish some work. For lunch, we went to the nearby Super Tanker hawker centre.

Loh mee was so-so

Passed by Penang Twin Towers?

We went back to rest after that. That evening, we walked to Lorong Baru a.k.a New Lane to have dinner. The famous fried pork intestine porridge was there, and you can see all the intestines hanging at the stall. Hard to miss!

Very tasty porridge!

Oyster omelette

Char kuey kark

It was back to KL the next day. I sure do miss the char kuey teow in Penang. Hopefully there'll be another trip there again with friends!
